This year Join school has its five years anniversary. Your school is in good shape. We do not need any maintenance to your school. We should celebrate this. I remember the opening day of your school. In 2019 we had 239 children. Now we have already 309 in your school. The number of students is increasing because of our new education system. Normally we have from kindergarten to Grade 10 and now we have Kindergarten to Grade 12. Your school is a branch high school. So now they have Kindergarten to Grade 12. Your school village is still in a safe area of Bagan. No fighting. We can still reach your school. Thank you for your support and hope to see you again. Min Min

Klimapass Solar Water was completed on March 12th,2023. The name of the village is called Lat Wei. It is in the same village as Marjin Solar Water. But it is in the northern part of the village. The village has two tube wells and on the side of Marjin people have water and on the other side half of the village people do not have enough water. This tube well has electricity, a diesel generator and now solar power. But now the availability of electricity is around 4 hours per day. This is a big village with 500 Families and there are 2400 people living in the village. Now they have 200 more people from the other side of the Ayeyarwaddy river. They cannot live in their home village. They come and live with their relatives. That makes them need more water. The total need of the whole village is 40000 gallons of water per day. Now they have more than 80% of their daily needs from the two tube wells. Each tube well pumps over 2500 gallons of water per hour and the tube-well is 800 feet deep. They distribute water by the pipeline and the village people pay one unit of water for 500 Kyats earlier. Now it is reduced to 400 Kyats per water meter unit. The new solar system can pump in 7 hours a day. Our system works 8:00 o’clock in the morning until 3 o’clock in the evening. Now is the beginning of the Myanmar summer. People in the dry zone need more water at this moment. And we save more CO2 through our Solar Water. Thanks for the Klimapass system in Stiftunglife! /Min Min

On 2nd December 2022 we visited Join School. This school is running very well. Our former headmistress was transferred to another school. Now we have the new headmistress. Now we have 197 children with 8 teachers. PAUL water filter working very well. And our school building is in good shape. Our trees which we planted on the opening day grew quite tall. And also, other trees on the back of the school. All the children and teachers have been vaccinated. Now they have electricity in the village. This year they have a good harvest of peanuts. /Min Min

Today we should call it “Solar Water Day of Stiftunglife”. Because today on five years ago we started to pump water with solar power in our first solar water project (Klaus-Michael 1) in Kan Ni Pauk village near Bagan. Today I visited there, and our solar water system keeps working well. During this five year they have changed three solar panels. Two they got free because of the warranty. Only on the third one they have paid. This is the highest cost in five years. And today one old member of the water committee told me that in the time of Covid, villages did not allow the outsider to come across the village. So, they built a new road around the village. This road leads directly to the school, monastery, solar water station and other villages. They use the savings to build the road. Today it has been exactly 1826 days and if we calculated 4 gallons of diesel per day then we reduced over 7300 gallons of diesel. It is the same amount which we reduced 73,624 Kg of CO2. This year in this village they have a good harvest because of good weather. /Min Min

We visited Klaus Solar Water project one together. This project was built in 2017. Now it is already five years in service and it’s running perfect. The village people maintain and clean the solar regularly The investment for this project was from our side 10.000 Euro. The villagers gave 2.000 Euro, but they save a lot of money, meanwhile more than 12.000 Euro. They are so happy with the solar energy, as the price for fuel doubled in the last year. Greatest thanks to Mr. Kühne, who inspired us for this project. Meanwhile we have 34 Solar Water projects running in the Bagan area. And we will go on this year. /Min Min

The name of the village is called Lat Wei. This is a big village with 500 Families and there are 2200 people living in the village. They have electricity in the village. So, they used to pump up the water with the elecity. But they can not pump in the daytime because of the low voltage. So they can pump up only 4 hour in the midnight after all the people fall asleep. So they have a big problem about the water. So they request our solar system. It pumps over 2500 gallons of water per hour and the tube-well is 710 feet deep. They distribute water by the pipeline and the village people have to pay one unit of water for 500 Kyats. And the village needs 25000 gallons of water per day. They have two tube-wells in the village and so now they have our solar water system, and it covers more than half of their daily need of water. The solar system can pump in 6 hours a day. Our system works 9:00 O’clock in the morning until 3 O’clock in the evening. So, it works 6 hours per day. This project is a zero Co2 project because they do not use diesel at all. This is a great project for the ecosystem and environment. /Min Min

The Name of the village is called Gyo Kan. In this village there are 80 families with 300 people. In this village they have only one tube-well. And there is no electricity in their tube-well. So donated a solar pumping system for this tube well. It has 450 feet depth, and the pump is at 380 feet. The pump power is 5.5 Hp and the diesel generator took half a gallon of diesel per hour. They pump formally six hours a day with diesel. So they used 3 Gallons of diesel per day. They distribute the water to the village by pipeline and people pay 550 Kyats per unit. It is around 50 Gallons of water. The village needs 6,000 Gallons per day and now we pump 1300 Gallons of water per hour. And we can pump 6 Hours with our solar system. So it covers more than the full amount of the water needed from the village. And it saved 4,057 liters of diesel per year and will benefit 43.8 Million Kyats for the village people. /Min Min

The Name of the village is called Kan Ni Pauk. In this village there are 325 families with 1800 people. In this village they have only two tube-wells. And there is no electricity in their tube-well. So donated a solar pumping system for this tube well. It has 385 feet depth, and the pump is at 290 feet. The pump power is 5.5 Hp and the diesel generator took half a gallon of diesel per hour. They pump formally eight hours a day with diesel. So they used 4 Gallons of diesel per day. They distribute the water to the village by pipeline and people pay 500 Kyats per unit. It is around 50 Gallons of water. The village needs 15,000 Gallons per day and now we pump 1500 Gallons of water per hour. And we can pump 6 Hours with our solar system. So it covers more than half the amount of water needed from the village. And it saved 5,409 liters of diesel per year and will benefit 5.84 Million Kyats for the village people. /Min Min

Join school is the branch high school. It has the chance to run the school very short in July and August. In the short time of school running we donated 36 single benches for the school. But the school stopped again in August 2020. So now the school is closed and all the children are staying at home. Some are helping their parents and some boys become novices. The monk of the village gives the children some Buddhism training. This year they have the normal harvest and they grow only peanuts. Our Klaus solar water 1 has been running since three years and now it is running also good. When they become the branch high school they have to hire the high school level teacher by the village people. And now they save a lot of money from our solar water project. So they paid every month 400,000 Kyat to four teachers. This village we have our school building, a PAUL water filter, solar lamp and 72 star-flower trees. So this is our first five star’s village. But they are still interesting to get more trees. So we will see and we can also give another 1000 trees in the coming year. /Min Min

In diesem Dorf lieferte der Dieselgenerator den Strom für die Elektropumpe, die das Trinkwasser aus 300 Meter Tiefe nach oben pumpt. Wir haben eine Solaranlage daneben gestellt und das Ganze hybrid verbunden. Nun liefert (meistens) die Solaranlage den Strom für die Elektropumpe. Der Dieselgenerator kommt nur noch zum Einsatz, wenn es lange bewölkt ist. Gesamtkosten der Anlage: 10.000 Euro, die Dorfbewohner haben sich mit 2.000 Euro beteiligt. Im ersten Jahr haben sie 2.500 Euro gespart (die sie sonst für den Kauf von Diesel ausgegeben hätten). Geplante Laufzeit der Anlage: 20 Jahre. /jg

Man würde bei uns von einer „Toilettenfrau" sprechen – aber weil dieser Job in Myanmar genau so wenig beliebt ist wie in Deutschland, mussten wir uns viel Zeit nehmen, um Schülern und Lehrern zu erklären, wie wichtig es ist, die Hände zu waschen. Mit Seife! Das gilt besonders auf dem Land, wo viele ihren Reis noch mit den Händen essen. Der Mönch hat unser Anliegen unterstützt und wir haben uns einen schönen Namen ausgedacht: Life saven, das möchte jeder - und so begann eine neues Kapitel an unseren Schulen. Nun achtet eine Frau darauf, dass sich jedes Kind die Hände ordentlich wäscht, wenn es von der Toilette kommt. Auch wenn das unspektakulär klingen mag: rein statistisch retten wir damit jedes Jahr zwei bis drei Menschenleben. jg

Am 12. Oktober fand die feierliche Schuleröffnung der Join Schule, erst Jörn genannt, statt. Das ganze Dorf hatte sich wieder herausgeputzt und hat sein Bestes gegeben, um die Spender, die fast mit der gesamten Familie kommen konnten, willkommen zu heißen. Die Spender wollten der Schule gerne den Namen Join geben, da dieser zum Ausdruck bringt, was man in einer Schule macht, nämlich gemeinsam lernen, sich gemeinsam auf die Zukunft vorbereiten, sich zu unterstützen. Und auch, dass diese Schule ein gemeinsames Projekt mit den Dorfbewohnern ist. Dies ist die erste Schule, die wir eine 5 Sterne Schule nennen dürfen, denn sie vereint die 5 Pfeiler, auf denen die Schulprojekte im Moment beruhen: das Schulgebäude, PAUL, Solarlampen, Solarwasseranlage und die Trees for future. Herzlichen Glückwunsch an die Spender und das gesamte Dorf. Wir freuen uns auf weitere gute Zusammenarbeit. ub

Die Einladungen zur feierlichen Eröffnung der Jörn bzw. Join Schule (wie sie heißen wird) sind verschickt. In 2 Tagen ist es so weit. Die Vorfreude ist groß!

Wir statten heute der Schule einen Besuch ab im Rahmen unserer Stippvisite an die Klaus 1 SW Anlage. Zu Beginn dieser Woche fangen für viele Kinder die Sommerferien an. Nur die Klassen, die Examen ablegen müssen, sind in der Schule und bereiten sich auf die Examen vor. Die Schulleiterin schließt uns das saubere Gebäude auf. Da es ja erst vor Kurzem renoviert wurde, gibt es kaum etwas zu bemängeln. In einer Wand arbeitet das Holz etwas, wodurch ein kleiner Spalt in der Wand zum Vorschein kommt und in einem Klassenzimmer ist die Oberfläche des Fußbodens aufgebrochen, weil wohl eine Luftblase darunter war, das ist jedoch weiter nicht schlimm. PAUL steht im Schatten auf der Veranda in einem anderen Gebäude. Das Trinkwasser wird umgeschüttet in die traditionellen tönernen Gefäße. Das Wasser wurde hier getestet und für gut befunden! Das freut mich sehr.

Heute war ich bei der Jörn Schule zu Besuch. Die Renovierung ist rundum gelungen und die Kinder und ihre Eltern und Lehrer sind sehr stolz darauf und zufrieden. Sie freuen sich alle auf die baldige Schuleröffnung und die Anwesenheit des Spenders. ub

Das Dorf liegt eine gute halbe Stunde südlich von Bagan. Vor einigen Monaten haben wir hier eine Solar/Wasseranlage installiert, mit der die Dorfbewohner sehr zufrieden sind. Bei der Gelegenheit haben wir uns die Schule angeschaut und gesehen, dass da einiges zu tun ist. Das Gebäude selbst ist von der Substanz in Ordnung, der Zahn der Zeit hat dran genagt, es ist Zeit für eine gründliche Renovierung. Die Dorfbewohner haben ihren Anteil gesammelt, der Spender hat uns seine Zusage gegeben, das Projekt kann starten. Allerdings erst in drei Monaten, bis dahin haben wir noch mit der Fertigstellung der anderen Projekten zu tun. /jg
